Powers:
Warren possesses a fraction of Tezcatlipoca's shadowy magic, which has become internalized. His powers are fueled by blood, either human or animal. Can open dimensional portals that appear to be made of shadows. These shadows can form armor around his body, can be fired in concussive beams, and can be used to form simple constructs, such as tendrils.

Obsessed with regaining control of the Azangel helmet. In typical fashion believes Ciela is responsible for every bad decision he ever made.

Trained fighter. Was at one time an Azangel so knows how to utilize the helmet Ciela wears. Psychotic skilled in human sacrifice.
Origin / History:
Started out at a young age as a follower of Quetzalcoatl and eventually became his champion, Azangel. At some point was corrupted by the Apocalypse Organization (AO), the Q Foundation's opposite number. When this happened Ciela Jarras' (see Azangel) training was stepped up and she was given the title and helmet without completing her training. This pushed Warren over the edge, with Tezcatlipoca (still in limbo) promising him a return to power once Ciela was removed from the scene. Upon Tez's release from limbo, he possessed Azangel, slighting Warren (or so Warren thought) and had Warren conduct several murders on his behalf, with the 'priest' going a step further and planting some of Azangel's golden feathers on the bodies.

Warren was later thrown into a limbo-like dimension off J Street by Az but had enough power left to escape back to his home dimension, where he joined the Apocalypse Organization in fighting Mictiantecuhtli, whom they had mistakenly released. When Azangel returned home she temporarily joined forces with Warren, temporarily himself Death, and three other metahumans named for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. After a brief but exhausting battle Mictiantecuhtli was sent 'home' to Mictlan. (An Aztec version of hell) Warren then turned on the weakened Azangel, planning to kill her and take the helmet. He was in turn captured by the Justice Avengers, who had been called by the AO's leader, Cortez.

Later on, Warren returned to J Street and tracked down Ciela and attacked her, attempting to regain control of the helmet. When he finally got the helm, it turned on him, short-circuting his mind. He vanished into a shadowy portal and ended up in Mictlan, where he joined up with Adrianne. Returning to J Street yet again, Adrianne in tow, he killed Aquarius and faced off against Jayna and Raserei, before retreating back to Mictlan.
